INTRODUCTION ABOUT TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET

TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET is used in the management of hypertension. It is preferably used when treatment with single BP medicines does not provide adequate control in blood pressure.

It contains a combination of two medicines, namely Amlodipine and Telmisartan which works by relaxing the blood vessels supplying the heart and other organs which reduces the strain on the heart and decreases blood pressure.

Take TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET under medical supervision. It can be taken with or without meals. Do not take alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET, as it could severely decrease your blood pressure.

Before taking TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver disease, kidney disease or any other heart conditions apart from hypertension such as heart failure, etc. You must also inform your doctor if have diabetes, swelling of body parts or any other pre-existing medical conditions.

Do not take TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant and breastfeeding as a precaution. The most common side effects of taking TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET are dizziness, tiredness, sleepiness, sudden drop in blood pressure with fainting, racing heartbeat, and flushing or redness of face and neck. Talk to your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.

HOW TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET WORKS

TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET is a combination of two medications namely, amlodipine and telmisartan. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing the blood vessels and improving blood flow by preventing calcium from entering the muscles of the heart and arteries, which helps to lower blood pressure. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), which blocks the hormone angiotensin II, preventing it from tightening blood vessels. This also helps relax the blood vessels and reduce blood pressure. Together, these two drugs provide better control of high blood pressure.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• Take TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET as directed by your doctor
• Generally, they are taken once a day, preferably at the same time each day
• Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
• It can be taken with or without food
• Do not skip doses or stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, as this could affect your blood pressure management

Common Side Effects of TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET:

• Dizziness

• Abdominal pain, nausea, or diarrhea

Stop taking TEL CAD AM 40 TABLET and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects such as:

• Severe decrease in low blood pressure
• Swelling of body parts and unexplained weight gain
• Chest pain
• High blood potassium levels
