What is this medicine for
It is used to treat pimples (acne).
How does it work
Adapalene is in a class of medications called retinoid like compounds. It works by stopping pimples from forming and lowers gland size in the skin.
How should this medicine be used
Do not take this drug by mouth. Use on your skin only. Keep out of your mouth, nose, and eyes (may burn). Wash your hands before and after use. Clean affected part before use. Make sure to dry well. Put a thin layer on the affected skin and rub in gently. Pimples can take 6-8 weeks to form under the skin, and during the first weeks of your treatment, this drug may bring these pimples to the skin surface. Continue to use adapalene even if your acne worsens or you do not see much improvement at first.

What do I do if I miss a dose
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed one.
What precautions should I take when taking this medicine
Tell your doctor if you are allergic to adapalene or any other medications. Tell your doctor if you have or ever had eczema or cancer, or if you are pregnant. This drug may make your skin sensitive to sunlight. Wear protective clothing and avoid unnecessary exposure. Do not use hot wax during the treatment period.
When do I need to seek medical help
Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug include wheezing, chest tightness, fever, itching, bad cough, blue or gray skin color, seizures, or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Seek help if you experience very bad skin irritation, any rash or any side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
Can I take it with other medicines
Many skin care products can irritate your skin if you use them with adapalene. This is especially likely if you use products that are harsh, dry out the skin, or contain alcohol, spices, lime, sulfur, salicylic acid, or alpha hydoxy acid.
Are there any food restrictions
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue with your normal diet.
How do I store this medicine
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. – Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
