Proxtl 50 Dry Syrup belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Proxtl 50 Dry Syrup does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Proxtl 50 Dry Syrup contains Cefpodoxime proxetil, which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Proxtl 50 Dry Syrup works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Proxtl 50 Dry Syrup kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.

In some cases, Proxtl 50 Dry Syrup may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Check the label for directions and use as advised by the doctor. Add boiled and cooled water up to the mark on the label and shake well. Adjust the volume up to the mark by adding more water if necessary. The reconstituted solution should be used within 7 days of preparation. Administer the prescribed dose to the child using the measuring cup.
