INTRODUCTION ABOUT NIMDIS TABLET

NIMDIS TABLET contains Nimesulide, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used to manage inflammatory conditions, including joint disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, posttraumatic and postoperative painful conditions, and fever. NIMDIS TABLET is also used to manage acute pain in orthopaedic, ENT, dental, and mild to moderate pain of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Your doctor might advise regular liver function tests during management with NIMDIS TABLET.

NIMDIS TABLET is usually advised as a second line of management for a short duration of time in order to relieve symptoms.

NIMDIS TABLET is not recommended in cases of active stomach or duodenal ulcers, alcoholism, drug addiction, cerebrovascular bleeding or bleeding disorders, severe clotting disorders, severe heart, kidney, or liver impairment, fever and/or flu-like symptoms, a history of recurrent ulceration, or gastrointestinal bleeding.

NIMDIS TABLET is not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy and in breast-feeding women.

NIMDIS TABLET is not given to children and adolescents below 12 years of age. It should be used with caution in elderly patients.

The most common side effects of taking NIMDIS TABLET are vomiting, diarrhea or nausea, and changes in the level of liver enzymes. Consult your doctor if the above side effects do not improve.

USES OF NIMDIS TABLET

It is used to manage inflammatory conditions, including joint disorders such as:

  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • post traumatic
  • postoperative painful condition and
  • fever

HOW NIMDIS TABLET WORKS

NIMDIS TABLET works by blocking the enzyme involved in the production of certain chemical substances during inflammation, which are responsible for causing pain, redness, swelling, and fever in the body. Hence decreasing the fever, pain, and swelling caused after injuries.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take NIMDIS TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without meals.

For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow NIMDIS TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse NIMDIS TABLET in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the mixture immediately after reconstitution.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition. Continue to take NIMDIS TABLET for the stipulated duration prescribed by your doctor to achieve better results.

SIDE EFFECTS OF NIMDIS TABLET

COMMON

  • diarrhoea
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • elevated liver enzymes

UNCOMMON

  • skin itching, eruptions
  • increased sweating
  • constipation
  • flatulence
  • gastrointestinal bleeding
  • ulcers and perforation in stomach, duodenum
  • high blood pressure
  • dizziness
  • breathing difficulty
  • edema

RARE

  • decreased red blood cells and low hemoglobin
  • high level of disease-fighting white blood cells (eosinophils)
  • allergic skin reactions
  • increased blood potassium level
  • anxiety, nervousness, and nightmares
  • blurred vision
  • increased heart rate, fluctuation in blood pressure, and hot flushes
  • Inflamed skin and redness
  • tiredness, decreased muscle strength
  • blood in urine and difficulty in urinating
  • pain or burning sensation while urinating

Stop taking NIMDIS TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

  • signs of allergic reactions like rashes, mucosal lesions (exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • signs of liver injury (anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, dark urine, or abnormal liver function tests)
  • gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration/perforation, stools with blood
  • signs of fever like chills, shivering, feeling of uneasiness
