AMLOSAFE MT 50

Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet is an antihypertensive agent used to treat high blood pressure/hypertension and angina pectoris. High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels. Angina is basically a pain in the heart and chest.

Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet contains Metoprolol succinate and Amlodipine. Metoprolol succinate works by slowing down the heart rate, thereby making it more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, thereby improving blood flow. Together, Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet helps treat high blood pressure.

Take Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet as prescribed. In some cases, Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet may cause certain common side effects such as tiredness, dizziness, headache, ankle swelling and slow heart rate. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.

It is advisable to inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Keep your doctor informed in case you are due to undergo any surgery or dental procedure. Avoid consuming alcohol with Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet as there may be an interaction. Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet  may cause dizziness; therefore, drive only if you are alert.

Treatment of Hypertension and Angina pectoris

Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Metoprolol succinate and Amlodipine. It is used primarily to treat hypertension and to relax the blood vessels for seamless flow of blood. Metoprolol succinate is a beta-blocker that eases the symptoms of hypertension by blocking catecholamines that lead to increased pressure and heart rate. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that decreases blood pressure by preventing the influx of calcium ions into cells and by enlarging and relaxing arteries. In addition, Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet also reduces the oxygen demands of the heart, relaxing the heart and blood vessels and requiring the heart to do less work.

Take Amlosafe MT 50 Tablet with or without food as directed by the physician. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.
