INTRODUCTION ABOUT CHOLTRAN SACHET

Choltran Sachet is a health supplement used to lower your body’s level of cholesterol (a type of fat) which can cause heart disease. It may also help manage some types of diarrhoea or itching. It contains cholestyramine as an active ingredient that helps lower the cholesterol levels.

Cholestyramine belongs to a group of medicines called bile acid binding resins that works in the digestive system and absorbs the cholesterol-containing bile acids, which then pass out through the body in the stools.

Take Choltran Sachet as advised by the doctor. Inform your doctor if you have bile duct being completely blocked, a family history of high cholesterol levels, or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Choltran Sachet should not be used for children below 6 years of age.

SIDE EFFECTS OF CHOLTRAN SACHET

Choltran Sachet might cause constipation in some individuals. Consult your doctor if you notice any such side effects while taking it.

SAFETY ADVICE

• Always take Choltran Sachet as advised by your physician
• Mix the powder with milk, thin soups, fruit smoothies, sauces (Ex. apple sauce) or water, stir well and consume the mixture immediately
• Do not mix with too much hot or cold water
• Do not take it in its dry form as it may cause you to choke
• Do not take Choltran Sachet if you are allergic to any of its components
• Keep your alcohol intake within the recommended limits as advised by your doctor, as alcohol can increase your cholesterol level
• Ask your doctor before taking it during pregnancy or breast-feeding
• Choltran Sachet should not be used for children below 6 years of age
• Inform your doctor if you have bile duct being completely blocked, or a family history of high cholesterol levels
• Inform your doctor on all the medicines you use, including prescription, over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements
