Along with management with this medicine, your doctor might order bacterial culture tests to enhance the outcomes of the management.
It contains a combination of medicines called Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid, which belong to the group of medicines called Penicillins and Beta-Lactamase Inhibitors. It works by preventing the growth of the bacteria and thus clearing up the infection.
CLAVAM 1.2GM INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney impairment who had a history of liver problems or jaundice after taking penicillin antibiotics. It should be used with caution in patients suffering from glandular fever (a viral infection causing sore throat, high fever, swelling of salivary glands, etc.), liver disease, kidney disease, who are not passing urine daily, convulsions (fits), or large intestine inflammation.

USES OF CLAVAM 1.2GM INJECTION
HOW CLAVAM 1.2GM INJECTION WORKS
CLAVAM 1.2GM INJECTION helps in managing bacterial infection, where Amoxicillin works by inhibiting penicillin-binding proteins (which are involved in the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall), leading to the activation of autolytic enzymes in the bacterial cell wall. Therefore, leading to lysis of the cell wall and death of the bacterial cell, clavulanic acid inhibits the activity of bacterial enzymes known as beta-lactamases and hence enhances the antibacterial activity of amoxicillin.
