INTRODUCTION ABOUT LUPRIDE 1MG INJECTION

LUPRIDE 1MG INJECTION contains Leuprolide which belongs to the group of medicines called Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) agonist. It is used for palliative management (relieving symptoms and minimize the associated suffering) of advanced prostatic cancer.

Advanced prostatic cancer is the cancer (abnormal cell multiplication and differentiation) that originates in the prostate gland and spreads to the other parts of the body. It is characterized by the symptoms such as painful urination, decreased urine pressure, blood in the semen, bone pain, leg swelling, and weakness.

Do not receive LUPRIDE 1MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Leuprolide and other GnRH, GnRH agonist analogs.

Before receiving this medicine, inform your doctor if you have liver impairment, kidney failure, metastatic vertebral lesions, urinary tract obstruction, diabetes or if you have history of orchiectomy (surgical removal of testes) or have been managed with an LH-RH agonist analog previously also.

LUPRIDE 1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It should be used with caution in children and elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Consult your doctor before receiving.

The common side effects associated with the use of LUPRIDE 1MG INJECTION are hot flashes, impotence, anaemia, bone pain, muscle pain, dizziness, light-headedness, general pain, headache, sleeplessness, sleep disorders, and shortness of breath. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsens.

HOW LUPRIDE 1MG INJECTION WORKS

LUPRIDE 1MG INJECTION helps in palliative management of advanced prostatic cancer where leuprolide works by initial stimulation followed by blocking of secretion of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH), resulting in suppression of production of ovarian and testicular hormones. This thus helps to relieve the symptoms associated with increased testosterone levels in advanced prostatic cancer.
