INTRODUCTION ABOUT PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE
PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE is a combination of Duloxetine and Pregabalin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidepressants and Anticonvulsants respectively. It is used to manage severe nerve pain (such as diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia) and fibromyalgia (severe muscle pain with tiredness, mood swings, sleepiness and memory loss).
Before taking this medicine inform your doctor if you have any lung, liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have bleeding problems, mania, bipolar disorder, diabetes, glaucoma, constipation or a previous history of drug abuse as a precaution.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE as it may make you feel dizzier. Do not take PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Women of childbearing age must use a suitable contraceptive method to avoid pregnancy while undergoing therapy with PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE.
The most common side effects of taking PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE are sleepiness, dizziness, headache, mood changes, tremor, tingling or numbness, dry mouth, constipation, flatulence, feeling drunk, muscle cramps, sore throat, inability to reach orgasm, decreased sexual drive and weight loss. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience worsening of depression along with suicidal thoughts or having severe muscle stiffness, shakiness, fever and/or chest pain as a precaution.

It is used to manage:
- nerve pain (such as diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia)
- fibromyalgia (severe muscle pain with tiredness, mood swings, sleepiness and memory loss)
HOW PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE WORKS
PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE is a pain-relieving medication. It reduces pain sensation by altering the activity of certain brain chemicals (dopamine, serotonin and adrenaline) within the nervous system. As a result, it reduces the transmission of pain signals from the damaged nerves to the brain and vice versa.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE can be taken with or without food.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE without consulting your doctor.
SIDE EFFECTS OF PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE
COMMON
- dizziness, drowsiness, headache
- increased appetite
- increased mood, confusion, disorientation, irritability
- lack of attention, clumsiness, memory impairment
- tremor, difficulty in speaking
- tingling or numbness, sedation, lethargy
- difficulty in sleeping, tiredness
- blurred vision, double vision
- spinning sensation, problems with balance
- dry mouth, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhoea, nausea, swelling in abdomen
- swelling of the extremities (such as hands, legs, or fingers)
- feeling drunk, abnormal style of walking
- weight gain, increased sweating
- muscle cramps, joint or back pain, pain in limbs
- sore throat
- difficulties with erection, inability to reach orgasm, decreased sexual drive, delayed ejaculation
- flushing, fast heart rate, increased blood pressure
- painful urination, frequent urination
- weight loss (especially in children)
UNCOMMON
- high or low blood sugar
- hallucinations, mood changes
- dry eyes, eye pain, watery eyes, eye swelling
- heart rate disturbances, high or low blood pressure
- difficulty in breathing, dry nose, nasal congestion
- increased salivation, heartburn, numbness around mouth
- skin rash, chills, fever
- breast pain
- cold hands and feet
- teeth grinding
- muscle twitches
- changes in sense of taste
- ear pain
- liver problems
- bloody stools or vomits
- abnormal vaginal bleeding, heavy, painful menstrual periods
- increase in blood cholesterol levels
RARE
- abnormal sense of smell
- cold sweat, tightness of the throat, swelling of tongue
- inflammation of the pancreas
- difficulty in writing properly
- fluid in the lungs
- muscle damage
- discharge from breasts, abnormal growth of breast in men
- low urine output
- signs of Parkinsonism (muscle stiffness, shaking and decreased ability to move)
- low thyroid functions
- contraction of jaw muscles
Stop taking PRIXAIN D 75/20 CAPSULE and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- suicidal thoughts and behaviour
- serious skin reaction involving reddish non-elevated, target-like, or circular patches on the trunk, often with central blisters, skin peeling, ulcers of mouth, throat, nose, genitals and eyes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
- feeling restless, urge to move, increased irritation
- signs of serotonin syndrome (feeling agitated, hallucinations, confusion, loss of consciousness, fast heartbeat, feeling dizzy, increased sweating, flushing, tremors, stiff muscles, or muscle twitching, loss of coordination, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or seizures)
- signs of allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swellling of the face, lips, tongue and throat which causes difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
