INTRODUCTION ABOUT TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET

TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET is used in the management of bacterial infections. It is used for short-term management of bacterial infections of urinary tract, skin and soft-tissue, ear, bone, blood, abdomen, genital and lungs (pneumonia). It is also used to reduce the risk of getting infections after surgery.

It contains a medicine called Cefixime, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria by interfering with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall and eventually killing the bacteria.

Take TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy to achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.

TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET is suitable for use both in adults and in children aged 10 years or older. However, consult your doctor for advice before taking it.

Before taking TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any stomach problems or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET as a precaution.

The most common side effects of taking TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, and bloating. Inform your doctor if they trouble you.

USES OF TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET

TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET is used in the management of bacterial infections such as:

• Ear infections
• Nose, throat or sinus infections (sore throat, sinusitis)
• Chest and lung infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia)
• Urinary system (such as cystitis and kidney infections)
• Stomach infections (infections of the gut)
• Genital tract infections

HOW TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET WORKS

TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET is a powerful antibiotic with bacteriostatic properties. It kills susceptible bacteria by blocking the bacterial cell wall synthesis. Unlike other cephalosporins, it can also remain unaffected by the toxic proteins produced by the bacteria (such as beta-lactamases). Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria, manage their further growth and multiplication, and reduce the severity of the infection.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• Take this medicine as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.
• For Tablets: Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
• For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in the required quantity of water (as mentioned in product label) and consume the mixture once the medicine dissolves completely
• Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight, and severity of the infection.
• Do not stop taking TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET once your symptoms subside.
• It is important to take this medicine for the stipulated duration recommended by your doctor to achieve control over the infection

SIDE EFFECTS OF TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET

Common Side Effects of TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET:

• Nausea or vomiting
• Stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhea, or wind
• Headache, dizziness
• Itchiness of the genital (or vaginal) areas

Stop taking TAXIM O DT 100MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

• Signs of severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue causing difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
• Unusual bleeding or bruising, bleeding from the nose or gums with pale skin, tiredness, chills, and shortness of breath
• Signs of stomach damage causing severe uncontrollable watery diarrhea, feeling weak, and fever
