INTRODUCTION ABOUT TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET

TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET is used to manage high blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is a combination of Metformin and Teneligliptin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents.

Before taking TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have low potassium levels in blood or are severely dehydrated due to excessive vomiting or diarrhea recently. During therapy with TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET, your doctor might regularly monitor blood sugar levels and kidney functions to avoid the risk of unwanted side effects.

TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe uncontrollable diabetes. It is also not suitable for use in patients with alcoholism and in patients with severe systemic infections. The most common side effects of taking TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET are low blood sugar levels, stomach upset, constipation, flatulence and altered taste sensations. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects bother you.

HOW TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET WORKS

TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET contains Metformin and Teneligliptin. Metformin works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin. Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor which works by increasing the release of insulin from pancreas and decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels. This reduces both fasting and post-meal sugar levels. Together, they provide better control of blood sugar.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• Take TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET preferably after meals or as advised by your physician
• Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
• Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition
• Do not stop taking TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET unless your doctor advice you to stop

SIDE EFFECTS OF TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET

Common side effects of TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET:

• hypoglycemia
• flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, loss of appetite
• changes in taste

Stop taking TIBAN M 20/500MG TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

• serious allergic reaction (hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat causing difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
• severe skin rashes with redness and blistering of the skin
• signs of lactic acidosis (cold hands or feet, dizziness or light-headedness, slow or irregular heartbeat, weakness or tiredness, unusual muscle pain, trouble breathing, sleepiness or drowsiness, stomach pains, nausea or vomiting)
• signs of liver damage (tiredness, loss of appetite, weight loss, with or without yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes)
