INTRODUCTION ABOUT VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET

VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET is used for reducing the episodes of recurrent vertigo associated with Meniere’s disease. It contains Betahistine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antivertigo agents. It works by improving blood flow in the inner ear. This lowers the buildup of pressure.

Before taking VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have asthma or have or had any stomach ulcers. You must also inform your doctor if you have low blood pressure or any underlying allergic conditions (such as skin rash, allergic rhinitis). VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET is not suitable for use in patients with vertigo and dizziness caused due to other head or brain problems apart from Meniere’s disease. Consult your doctor before taking VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET if you are a pregnant or breastfeeding women.

The most common side effects of taking VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET are headache, nausea, stomach pain and indigestion. Taking this medicine with food may reduce these unpleasant gastrointestinal disturbances. However, consult your doctor if they trouble you.

HOW VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET WORKS

VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET is a histamine analogue with anti-motion sickness and vasodilating properties. It reduces the unpleasant symptoms of Meniere’s disease (such as nausea, dizziness, vertigo and tinnitus) by improving the blood supply to the inner ear.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• Take VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food
• For Tablets: Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
• For Mouth Dissolving Tablet or Orally Disintegrating Tablet: Place the medicine inside your mouth and let it dissolve completely. Do not swallow or chew the medicine
• Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending on your age, body weight and severity of the disease

SIDE EFFECTS OF VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET

Common side effects of VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET:

• nausea
• indigestion, bloating, stomach pain
• headache

Stop taking VERTIN OD 48MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

• Severe allergic reactions (such as lumpy red skin rashes with itching, swelling of your face, lips, tongue or neck, drop in your blood pressure and difficulty in breathing)
